Pedra Branca is one of Lion Group’s strategic development investments, providing exposure to natural flake graphite together with nickel, copper and PGE exploration potential in Ceará, Brazil.
The asset combines more than two decades of geological, metallurgical and engineering work with a new phase of modern resource definition and development. It has also been selected under the European Commission’s GREEN Assist / InvestEU support framework through the GRAPHEUS initiative, reinforcing its relevance to diversified European critical-mineral supply chains.
Historical technical work includes drilling, mineral characterization, beneficiation studies and a comprehensive Pre-Feasibility Study completed by MAN Ferrostaal. Independent metallurgical testwork was subsequently carried out by Fundação Gorceix, providing an important technical foundation for the current development phase.
The project is undergoing a new generation of drilling, geological interpretation, QA/QC and 3D modelling, with a JORC Mineral Resource Estimate expected in September 2026.
Natural flake graphite remains the principal development focus, while recent geological work has identified nickel, copper and PGE mineralisation, providing additional exploration upside and the potential for multiple development pathways.
Pedra Branca benefits from paved-road infrastructure, regional power and water availability, access to Atlantic export logistics through the Port of Pecém, and existing environmental licences, including both an Installation Licence (LI) and Operating Licence (LO).
•The asset is strategically positioned within efforts in Europe and North America to develop diversified, non-Chinese supply chains for graphite and other critical minerals.
